FOR 49 years the Lady Manifold Games have been a prestigious pony club event on the western district circuit.
Last Sunday, six clubs competed at the Camperdown show grounds with Colac awarded overall winners.
The Camperdown Club had 11 members competing and was runner-up to Colac.
Camperdown had the honour of taking out the best presented team award.
A daughter of Lady Manifold, Mary Schlicht had the honour of presenting awards to selected winners following the games.
Mrs Schlicht said her mother was the instigator in starting the games in 1961.
“Mum was a great believer in kids having fun on ponies and that’s how these games are conducted,” she said.
“We call it a day of fun in a friendly environment.”
Emu Creek Pony Club will host the golden celebrations in 2011.
Competing clubs in the games were Cobden, Heytesbury, Western District, Emu Creek, Warrnambool, Colac and Camperdown.
