Lessons go swimmingly

Education made cool: St Colman’s School’s junior group took a dip in the Mortlake Swimming Pool last Thursday, as part of their annual swimming program.

ST Colman’s School’s junior group took advantage of last week’s late heatwave at the Mortlake Swimming Pool last Thursday.

As part of their yearly school program, teachers joined the children in the water to teach them how to swim as the mercury crept up to 30 degrees.

Principal Tim Bourke said the program encouraged a healthy attitude towards water.

“We still see it as a vital part of their physical education,” he said.

The program has been scheduled to continue until Tuesday, February 21 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
