Unique vintage wares on show

Goods galore: Wares up for grabs across Mortlake this Sunday will include a range of vintage pieces and unique bric-a-brac, including a scooter or an archery bow at resident Albert Brugman’s garage sale.

BARGAIN hunters and those with a keen eye for bric-a-brac will be spoilt for choice this Sunday.

The Mortlake Country Women’s Association evening branch is co-ordinating the community garage sale, which will see 36 residents put their wares out.

Branch member Sue Long said the branch is taking on the organising responsibilities after the Mortlake Lions Club helped plan the garage sale in recent years.

“We thought we’d take up the challenge,” she said.

Mrs Long said a range of goods will be up for grabs throughout the day from plants to vintage pieces.

“We’re hoping it will be a good event for Mortlake,” she said.

“Come and snap up a bargain.”

Maps will be available at Mortlake’s Market Square from 8am this Sunday, October 14, with sales set to run until 3pm.
