Tigers roar

SIMPSON has clinched its first victory of the season with a dominating 60-point victory over Colac last weekend.

Playing in front of a home crowd last Saturday, the Tigers put on a strong performance throughout the day, dominating across the ground.

Nicholas Harding had a great day out, booting home seven majors for the team, while team-mate Jarrod Garth added six goals to the board and Matthew Drayton contributed four.

Final scores were Simpson 20.6.126 to Colac 10.6.66

Other goal kickers for the Tigers included Nick Duynhoven, Lochie Hawkins and Addam Maric with one goal each.

Best for the side in what was a great team effort included Matthew Drayton, Lachlan Gass, Addam Maric, Jarrod Garth, Nicholas Harding and Lochie Hawkins.

The reserves also had a big day on the ground, celebrating a 112-point win, kicking 16.17.113 to 0.1.1.

Goals were shared across the board, with Jonathon Jennings and Brodie Neale kicking two each, Noah Ackerley (3), Darcy Thorburn and David Weel (two each) and Jayden Rooke (1).

Best in what was a great team effort included Brodie Neale, Guys Hawkes, Sam Rial, Jonathon Jennings, Darcy Thorburn and Tanner Fratantaro.

Earlier in the day, the under 18s celebrated a 17-point victory, 4.13.37 to 3.2.20.

It was a tough day for Simpson netballers, with a win in A grade the only victory for the day.

A grade: Simpson defeated Colac Imperials 52-42. Best players: Jessie Harding, Carol Arndell and Paige Salmon.

B grade: Simpson lost to Colac 24-41. Best: Kara Tyrer, Brianna Gass and Claudia Richardson.

C grade: Simpson lost to Colac 31-44. Best: Georgia Arundell, Rachael Duynhoven and Hannah Woods.

D grade: Simpson lost to Colac 17-31. Best: Jacoba Henderson, Lisa Arndell and Carly Newcombe.

17 and under: Simpson lost to Colac 11-45. Best: Kaylee Jansen, Imogen Eddy and Esha Crole.

15 and under: Simpson lost to Colac 29-47. Best: Esha Crole, Lucy Jones and Amelia Daniels.

13 and under: Simpson lost to Colac 17-30. Best: Halle Barake, Keisha McVilly and Milah Crole.
