The Baking Association of Australia is a national employer organisation which represents the baking industry, with representatives from each state, and often holds various events throughout the year.

This includes the Victorian Baking Show, which was held in Bendigo on Saturday.

Mr Peach took home third place in two bread classes – the 350-gram pipe loaf and the 680-gram high top half married loaf.

He said he was shocked when he discovered he placed third in the state.

“It was quite a surprise, but a happy surprise,” he said.

“It’s mostly to promote we do bread, and we do it well.

“We take orders and give back to the community which supports us here at the Camperdown Bakery.”

Mr Peach said he enjoyed working at Camperdown Bakery, which is owned by his mother Andrea Match.

“I came from ten years of chefing and wanted a change. Mum owns the bakery, so it was easy to pick up, and the hours work for me with a young family,” he said.
