CDMC returns to Regatta for Appeal
THE Camperdown and District Motorcycle Club will be holding its Good Friday Appeal fundraiser at the Camperdown Easter Regatta for a second year following the success of its initial run last year.

The club ran the fundraiser from their clubrooms at Lake Bullen Merri during the Regatta, which begins on Good Friday and runs over the Easter period.
Club treasurer Tim Place said the fundraiser from the previous year had raised $3500 at the Regatta, with motorcycle club members eager to beat the total.
Motorcycle Club president Brett Murdie said the club have always been supportive of the Good Friday Appeal, which raises funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
“We try and help out as much as we can because if you haven’t had a kid there, you know somebody who has had a kid there,” he said.
“They do a fantastic job.
“We set the fundraiser up while the Regatta’s on – get the tins out and all the rest of it and try and raise as much money as we can while people watch the yachts.
“It’s all fundraising for a good cause.”
Club secretary Donna Allison said the Regatta approached the club to run the fundraiser for a second year, which they were “happy to do”.
“It was just a one-off idea, and it’s just grown into a second go,” she said.
“It is close to our hearts even more at the moment – we’ve got a member whose son is in there at the moment.
“With the Easter raffle, we’ve got three hampers and we’ve got the ‘guess how many eggs are in the jar’.
“Bulla Ice Cream have come on board and they’ve donated some ice cream – that’ll all be done through gold coin donations.
“The community’s welcome to come up and have some fun.”
The fundraiser event will see members of the Camperdown and District Motorcycle Club rattling Good Friday Appeal tins for Regatta attendees throughout the day.
The clubrooms will open between 10am and 4pm, with hot foot, seafood baskets, fish and chips, steamed and fried dim sims and cold drinks on sale throughout the day.
