Demons rattle the Cats

DESPITE having just two wins on the board to date, Timboon managed to rattle the second-placed Allansford on their home ground last weekend.

The Demons headed to Allansford determined to make the Cats work hard for their points and they did exactly that.

Less than a goal separated the two sides at the end of the first quarter and by half-time the Demons were within a goal of the highly-fancied Cats.

To their credit the Demons contained the home side to 3.3 in the third term while adding 3.7 to the scoreboard to get within two points heading into the final quarter.

While the Cats were able to hold off a last-ditch effort from the Demons to win by 16 points, full credit to the visitors for their persistence and pressure throughout the game.

Final scores were Allansford 13.11.89 to Timboon 10.13.73.

Best for the Demons were Lachlan Roslolin, Ben Newey, Lyndon Also, Joshua Worboys, Ash Hunt and Will Moorhouse.

Goals went to Eben White (3), Martin Angus, Lachlan Rosolin (two each), Kyle Delaney, Will Moorhouse and Rhys Ziegelaar.

Timboon’s reserves struggled to keep up with the Cats on the scoreboard, going down by 54 points, 4.3.27 to 12.9.81.

Goal kickers for the Demons were Tyler Thorburn (3) and Drew Kordupel while among the best were Richie Moorhouse, Darcy Tribe, William Benallack, Drew Kordupel, Bayley Kelly and Jake Robbins.

In the A grade netball match, Timboon was defeated by Allansford 33-58.

A reserve – Timboon lost to Allansford 30-37.

B grade – Timboon lost to Allansford 30-34.

17 and under – Allansford defeated Timboon 48-18.

15 and under – Allansford defeated Timboon 17-16.

13 and under – Allansford defeated Timboon 26-24.
