Easter egg-stravaganza draws a crowd
HUNDREDS of children lined up outside Cobden Rotary’s mini golf to take part in their Easter egg-stravaganza egg hunt on Sunday.

The hunt was split into two separate age groups, with pre-schoolers getting a turn first at 11am and school-aged children having their own go at 12.30pm.
Up to a thousand miniature chocolate eggs were scattered across the mini golf course for children to find.
Cobden Rotary president Gary Kimber said attendance was up on the previous year and it was a very successful day on the green.
“Our attendance this year is almost double what it was last year,” he said.
“We had about 250 in the morning of pre-schoolers.
“We had lots of families from all over and people we didn’t recognise.
“With the current petrol crisis that’s quite amazing.”
Mr Kimber said the event was bolstered by the Australian Association of Live Steamers annual convention happening at the Cobden Miniature Railway next door.
“It was fantastic, a great family activity, highlighted by the Easter bunny,” he said.
“The Easter bunny is amazing, I don’t know how they do it.
“We’ve had mini golf on Friday and Saturday as well, it’s been quiet but we’re more than happy to have done it and opened up.
“There’s been people around, the train people from the convention have come over.
“It’s been really good, just a wonderful weekend for families and the weather’s been fantastic.”
