First win for young Lakers
CORANGAMITE Hockey’s under 12 Hockey 5s side celebrated its first win of the season.
In what was a 6 v 5 match against the Strikers, the Craters stepped up with more confidence and great energy on the field.
Paddy was on fire in goals, making some key saves to keep the team ahead, while Mateo brought the heat up front, hungry for goals and creating real pressure on the attack.
The You Rock award for the first three weeks went to Paddy (for showing grit and never giving up in goals), Adele (for being a strong, reliable player all game) and Mateo (delivering solid offence and defence).
The club is proud of the way the team is developing and working together.
In the under 15s, Corangamite put in a solid performance against Technique this week.
With strong teamwork and great communication, the forwards and midfield kept the pressure on, dominating play in our half.
This week’s You Rock award goes to Bentley for his consistent effort and aggressive attacking throughout the match.
In the under 18 competition it was a nail-biter against Mariners last Friday night.
Corangamite went out strong, with the forwards consistently talking and looking for each other.
Ava scored the first goal followed by a clean hit from Patrick.
Mariners fought back and managed a 3-2 win at full-time.
It wasn’t an easy win, with the Corangamite defence tackling and forcing passes.
Goalie Quinn again gave consistent directions to the team and saved several attempts by the Mariners to score.
The You Rock award went to Ava who played an outstanding game, again giving 100 per cent.
