Goal 100 for Lachie

STUCK on 99 goals heading into the final round last Saturday, it didn’t take long for Lismore/Derrinallum spearhead Lachie Constable to reach the magical 100 goal mark.

“He dropped a mark he’d normally swallow, scooped the ball up and snapped truly in the first minute,” Lismore/Derrinallum coach Alec Wiltshire said.

“I think it was nice for him and the team for him to get it over and done with early.”

The moment was one Constable enjoyed before moving on quickly.

“It was a joyous moment, there was a bit of a crowd that ran out which was nice, then we got back to playing the game,” Constable said.

Despite kicking 82 goals for the Demons in 2024, kicking a ton only became a recent reality for Constable.

“I never really thought about it until the past four or five weeks.

“It’s nice but we have bigger things to play for ahead.”

Lismore/Derrinallum presented Constable with the match ball at its after match presentations.

“Getting the ball was really nice and something I'll cherish,” he said.

The Demons ace goal kicker is looking forward to the finals campaign ahead.

“The last couple of years we’ve been building really well.

“It’s a testament to the hard work we’ve put in that we have put ourselves in a good position.”

Constable is one of a significant number of Demons to recommit for the 2026 season.

“We’re all extremely happy at Lismore/Derrinallum, it’s down to Alec and Wayne (coaches Alec Wiltshire and Wayne Walsh) for the environment they’ve created.

“The club is a great place to be at.”
