Indoor bowls action continues
ONCE again there was plenty of action at Heytesbury Indoor Bowls.

In division one, Glenormiston 1 was home to Laang-Ecklin and both teams picked up three shots each in the first five ends of the match.
By the half way mark, scores were locked at six all and then again at 15-all, leading to a one end shootout.
Glenormiston 1 suffered its first loss of the season, going down 15-16.
Timboon Lawn 1 was home to Cobden 1 and despite the home side getting off to a good start, scores were locked at six all after the first eight ends of the match.
While the scores were relatively even throughout, Timboon Lawn 1 defeated Cobden 1, 16-15.
In the third division one match, Camperdown 1 lost to Timboon Lawns 2 at home, 15-16.
Mepunga 1 hosted Camperdown 2 and despite the scores being two all after the first three ends of the match, the home side just kept putting the pedal to the metal and defeated Camperdown 2, 26-8.
The top four this week are: Glenormiston 1, Mepunga 1, Timboon Lawn 1 and Timboon Lawn 2.
In division two, Cobden 2 was at home to Mepunga 3 but couldn’t get the win, going down 11-32.
Mepunga 2 was too strong for Glenormiston 3, taking the win 25-12, while Glenormiston 2 was at home to Scotts Creek 1 and finished the day with a 21-12 victory.
Closing out the division two coverage, Simpson hosted Timboon Lawn 3 and took the win in a close batle, 21-20.
The top four this week are: Mepunga 3, Mepunga 2, Simpson 1 and Glenormiston 2.
In division three action, Peterborough hosted Mepunga 4 and this match had no less than six instances of jack leaving the mat.
At the end of the day, Peterborough lost to Mepunga 4, 20-35.
Also in division three, Cobden 3 was home to Scotts Creek 2 and celebrated a 24-20 win.
The division three ladder this week is: Mepunga 4, Cobden 3, Scotts Creek 2 and Peterborough.

Heytesbury ran its Fours Tournament last Sunday and it was a great sight to see eight mats full of players for the day.
Teams from all over came to play, including Ballarat, Hamilton, Colac, Highton, Warrnambool and Heytesbury.
In third place on 106 points was the Cobden team of Fred Salmon (s), Brad Wilson, Nick Saligari and Joyce Roberts.
Runners-up for the day on 112 points +11 shots was the team of Gill Phillips (s), Maurice Mahony, Colin Wilson and Des Phillips.
Winners for the day (from Warrnambool) on 112 points +25 shots were George Draffen (s) Barb Draffen, Clarrie Matthews and Karen Burgess.
Many thanks to those businesses who supplied food, financial support or prizes, the Wines’ (Max, Pam and Kathryn), Rita Mungean (helping in the kitchen), Scott (running the tournament), to the clubs who supplied raffle pizes, and to everyone who helped with setup and pack up.
