Jingling all the way
CAMPERDOWN’S annual Carols by Candlelight once again proved popular last Friday, with hundreds packing the Theatre Royal.

A strong set of 80 performers from around the Camperdown area filled the theatre with Christmas music over the evening – ranging from traditional Christmas carols to more contemporary Christmas-themed songs.
Carols organiser Toby McKenzie said he was happy with another standout Carols event.
“It was great to see so many people come along to enjoy and celebrate,” he said.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event in so many ways – soloists, choristers, musicians, dancers, technicians, front of house crew, backstage crew, sponsors and audience.

“A particular shout-out to the bump in and bump out crews whose job gets bigger every time.
“We had some guest musicians along who said it is the best Carols they have been part of which is high praise considering they attend so many across the district.
“It is a testament to the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to create the best carols possible.”
The lobby became a pop-up donation point for the Corangamite Food Bank, where five baskets of food and $508 in cash was donated to the cause.
Camperdown and District Community House coordinator Emily Mercer said she was grateful for the donations to the Food Bank.
Camperdown Carols by Candlelight is an annual tradition and is one of the longest running carols events outside Melbourne.
This year was the seventh time the Camperdown Theatre Company and Lakes and Craters Band have been running the event.
