Keeping tabs on driver behaviour

CAMPERDOWN Police are urging drivers to be on their best behaviour as part of ongoing road policing operations.

Camperdown Police Acting Senior Sergeant Stuart Revell said police detected five drink drivers from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, July 26 as part of ongoing efforts to address poor driver behaviour.

“Two of those were high-range readings resulting in the driver’s vehicle’s being impounded where they will be summons to court,” he said.

“Substance affected driving continues to be a significant concern to police and a contributing factor to serious injury and fatal collisions.

“Drivers should expect to see police on our roads around the clock, targeting impaired drivers to prevent collisions and ultimately reducing the road toll.”

Penalties for drink driving can include fines, loss of licence or disqualification from driving for a period of three or six months.
