Leah shines in the saddle
MORTLAKE rider Leah Kinman has won the Standardbred ‘HERO’ award at the Gold Grapes and Grain Series (round two).

The event, held at the Emu Creek Pony Club grounds last weekend and hosted by the Terang Adult Riding Club, saw Leah named Reserve Champion on both Saturday and Sunday.
On day one of the event, Leah finished in first place in Test 5.2 and second in Test 5.4.
On Sunday, she again topped the leaderboard in Test 5.3 and was second in Test 5.4.
“To win the HERO award on the weekend was a very exciting moment for me,” Leah said.
“My horse, Shadow, performed extremely well given we have only been competing in dressage for a few months now.
“Last weekend was only our third dressage competition; this is a new area for us but I’m very happy with how we’re going.”
As a member of the Goldfields Standardbred Riding Club, Leah and Shadow will head to Great Western on April 12 to compete in another GGG series event.
