Lincoln set for junior champs
GLENORMISTON’S Lincoln Templeton is gearing up to make his mark at the Australian junior motocross championships.

The seven-year-old will be among more than 50 riders contesting the 2025 KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championships at the Gilman Motocross Track in South Australia from September 29 to October 3.
Lincoln said he knew the racing would be a big step-up in competition but hoped he would be able to make an impact.
“I’m feeling good but I’m a bit nervous,” he said.
“All the fast kids are going to be there.
“I’m just hoping to qualify.
“I like racing and that I get to sometimes get the trophies.”

Lincoln said riding his beloved 2025 KTM 50 SX is among his most favourite things to do, with not many days skipped without riding.
“I ride most days, whenever dad is home,” he said.
“It’s a fun bike to ride and the suspension is really good.”
Lincoln’s dad, Richard, said his son had been revving the engine on two wheels for most of his life.
“He’s been riding since he was probably four-years-old,” he said.
“He rode four wheelers before then but he’s been on two wheels since he was about four.
“This is our first year racing under a competition license after last year just taking part in the local Warrnambool stuff.”
Mr Templeton said his son had enjoyed early success, in a trend they will look to continue at next month’s championships.
“We race most weekends and have already done the Victorian State Championship Series and the Western Region Series,” he said.
“He’s absolutely mad about it and he’s going well.
“He ran 12th in the Victorian State Championship Series despite missing a round because we were all crook and is currently running fifth in the Western Region series, so he’s doing well for himself.
“We’re hoping he’ll be able to qualify at the Australian Junior Motocross Championships in the top 40.
“We don’t know how many will be racing but we’ll see how he goes.”
