Loveday stars with the bat for Frogs
ECKLIN scored its third win of the season in the Colac-South West premier cricket competition on Saturday.
Playing on the Port Campbell turf wicket, the Frogs got the win in a Duckworth/Lewis decided result over Woorndoo.
Batting first, Woorndoo was dismissed for 138 in the 37th over.
Harry Bee continued his strong form on turf with 4/45 from eight overs, taking four of the first six wickets to fall.
Harry Carter was the other multiple wicket taker with 2/31 from eight.
Opening bowlers Stuart Timms and Aaron Harding were economical, taking a wicket each, with Timms conceding 21 runs from eight overs and Harding 15 from six.
After Carter was dismissed for a duck with the score on one, Liam Loveday took the Woorndoo bowlers to task.
The opener smashed 60 from 52 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes to put the Frogs well ahead of the required run rate.
Skipper Jamie Dewell made 28 from 19 balls and when rain halted play after 21.1 overs, Ecklin was 6/127, which was enough to secure victory; its second positive Duckworth/Lewis result of the season.
