Mortlake wins the battle
MORTLAKE bowlers have taken out the ‘Battle of the Hamilton Highway’ shield.

Mortlake hosted the battle last month, with teams from Derrinallum, Cressy and Inverleigh making the trip for a day of bowls and friendship.
Mortlake’s win is the second consecutive victory for the club.
Next year the competition will be hosted by Cressy.
The Moyne Shire Shield was also held at Mortlake (a week later) and attracted teams from Koroit, Macarthur and Port Fairy.
Mortlake once again came through, with three round wins for the day, while Macarthur finished runners-up.
Thanks to Moyne Shire for its continued support of this very welcome event.
In club championship news, 100 Up and women’s A grade championships are in progress.

Next week, we’ll bring you full coverage of the 100 Up for both women and men so far and hopefully, the same for A grade singles.
Pennant is quite literally around the corner and teams weren’t available for publishing this week.
Be sure to check the selection board later this week to see who is playing where next week.
Mortlake now has two midweek pennant sides in divisions one and four, and three in weekend pennant – divisions one, two and four.
If you are unavailable to play, please let Dean McKenzie know ASAP.
Memberships are now due and are payable preferably before pennant.
Please see treasurer Richard if you have any questions.
Twilight bowls is firing back up later this month and if you are interested in playing (either as a player or a team of three), please contact the twilight bowls coordinator Scott on 0418 218 547 to register your interest.
