NOBTS spring to victory
NOBTS caused a major upset in the spring Corangamite Volleyball finals when they upset ladder leaders Cooriemungle Bulls and Poachers on the way to winning the A grade grand final.

Although they finished in third place, three wins behind the first and second teams, NOBTS certainly turned up ready to create mayhem on finals night.
They took on Poachers in the first semi-final and knocked them out of contention, winning 2-1.
NOBTS were slow to start, losing the first set, but came back hard to win the second convincingly.
The deciding third set saw NOBTS snatch a 9-7 win and earn a spot in the final against top team Cooriemungle Bulls, who dealt easily with fourth-placed Ballbusters in their qualifier.
In a repeat of the semi-final, NOBTS let the opposition get away to a good start before grinding their way back into the contest.
They narrowly won the second set and drew the third when the bell called ‘time’.
A sudden-death short fourth set saw the experienced NOBTS claim the premiership with a two-point victory over the disappointed Cooriemungle Bulls.
NOBTS earned their win.
They brought in a couple of younger players which improved their offensive game.
The challenge match between Freeballers and Cowgirls was won by the taller and stronger Freeballers but the Cowgirls received a lot of praise for their ability to lengthen the rallies and resist the strengths of the opposition.
Corangamite volleyball’s nine-week autumn season begins with a meeting and warm-up on Tuesday, April 22.
