September sees average rainfall
SEPTEMBER saw a spike in rainfall over Cobden, bringing much-needed relief to farmers across the district.

September saw 84.4mm of rain hit the ground in Cobden, just shy of the 86.9mm average usually seen for the month.
This is similar to last year, when September 2024 recorded 87.6mm of rain over Cobden.
September was a wet month for Cobden, with 27 out of the 30 days recording at least some rainfall.
The highest daily rainfall was recorded on September 30, when 12.8mm of rain hit the ground.
This brings the annual total rainfall to September of this year to 457.4mm.
This total is still below the long-term average for the same period, which is 638.9mm, meaning more rain is needed to relieve farmers of the persisting drought conditions.
