Siblings shine in pool
TERANG College siblings Charlie and Sophie Simpson have performed exceptionally well at the recent Greater Western Region swimming championships.
Sophie Simpson with her bronze medallion from the 50 metre breastroke race and Charlie Simpson competed against 12 other boys from across the region in the 50 metre butterfly.
Making her debut at the regionals, Sophie had an impressive swim in the 10 year-old girls’ 50 metre breastroke, coming home third.
She had a quick start off the blocks and showed speed and determination, taking 1.5 seconds off her personal best time in what was a very competitive race – with just 1.06 seconds separating first from third.
Brother Charlie competed in the 12/13 boys’ 50 metre butterfly event and showed great skill in what was his first appearance at this level.
