Stableford challenge at Timboon
A STABLEFORD Challenge between Timboon and Cobden attracted a strong field to the Timboon Golf Club last Saturday.
Twelve players from Cobden averaged 33.35 stableford points to take the win over Timboon (21 players) with an average of 29.95.
The top five scores were: Simon Mahony (28) Cobden 40 points, Trevor Gardner (18) Cobden 40 points, Geoff Norton (9) 38 points, Darren Smith (7) 37 points and Mick Plozza (14) 36 points.
Nearest the pins: 5th Chris Huffadine, 7th Brendan Cook (Cobden) and 14th Stuart Dawson (Cobden).
Chris Huffadine won a ball for his second shot to the 11th while John Rix (Cobden) won a ball for his second shot to the 13th.
Thursday’s Railway View Chicken Day was won by John Bertram with 27 points on a countback from Bill Finlayson.
Nearest the pin was Darryle Beames.
Next Saturday will be stableford.
