Year Six students at Camperdown College enjoyed their final Book Week parade before high school.

Camperdown College hosted their annual parade on Tuesday, while Lismore Primary School also held their dress up day on Tuesday and Derrinallum P-12 College hosted their parade on Wednesday.

Camperdown College librarian Lauren Murphy said students enjoyed the adventurous feel to the day, with one of the classrooms decked out like an airport for the parade.

“Our Prep-Year six students transitioned into brave explorers, daring heroes, curious creatures and magical characters who wore amazing, creative and colourful costumes that were full of imagination,” she said.

“Our students were treated to guest readers including senior school captains Jada Mahony and Stella Horspole, mayor Kate Makin and pilot/past student Brett Hislop who each brought their favourite stories to life and made the day extra special.

“It’s clear that stories really do take us on the greatest adventures and they brought those adventures to life.

“Thank you to everyone who participated, helped with costumes and joined us to celebrate the joy of reading.

“Everyone helped to make this year’s Book Week one to remember.”

Camperdown College students Oakley Dickson, Olivia Marks, Xanthe Harris, Georgie Harrison, Harlee Rowbottom, Callen McLachlan and Sam Bateman were recognised with year level awards for best costumes.

Lismore Primary School saw a surprise visit from Colour Angel on Monday, where students had the opportunity to get their faces painted and get in on Book Week fun early.

Derrinallum P-12 College saw students across the school dress up as their favourite book characters for a parade on Wednesday.

St Patrick’s Primary School will hold their Book Week parade today (Friday).
