The Unknowns domination continues
THE Unknowns continued their unbeaten run in 2026, winning their round 10 match against Total Tools 3-2.
The doubles match is generally the deciding match and this was the case with The Unknowns winning the fifth game decisively.
Prior to this, Total Tools’ Tyler Smith maintained his winning streak against Michael Pearson after a sluggish start in four games.
Peter Maina took Tyler into the fifth game.
Michael and Peter won a singles each and combined together in the doubles to achieve victory.
Lefties held Nelson at bay to win 3-2.
The doubles would decide victory as it was very unlikely that either Leanne McDowell or Ian Rochfort would beat Trevor McDowell.
Leanne and Ian were able to win in four games 11-6, 5-11, 11-8, 15-13, Leanne’s blocking forehands importantly won a number of points.
Snapper@Crofts had the biggest win of the night with a 4-1 win against Rob Markable.
The highlight of the night was Vesha Chapagai defeating Mark Smith in five games 4-11, 14-12, 11-5, 5-11, 11-8.
Vesha of late has enjoyed playing fast paced hitting from Mark and Trevor while he has battled against the players who play defensively.
Vesha and Paul Healey won the doubles in five games 8-11, 11-13, 8-11, 13-11, 11-6.
Ladder: The Unknowns 28, Snapper@Crofts 24, Young@Heart 20, Lefties 12, Nelson 8, Rob Markable 8, Total Tools 8.
