Tough round for Tigers

SIMPSON’S senior foot-ballers have had a 17 point loss to the Western Eagles, going down 11.11.77 to 9.6.60.

On a day where the Tigers celebrated several milestones, it was an even first three quarters at the Simpson Recreation Reserve, with the Tigers up a point at the last change.

A five goal to two last quarter in favour of the visitors sealed Simpson’s fate.

Brayden Hawkes, Jonathon Jennings and Jayden Rooke were best for the Tigers, Jennings leading the goal kickers with three.

The Eagles also got the points in the reserves, 6.12.48 to 3.3.21.

The Tigers best were Kody Irvin, Kyle Egan and Jayden Bell.

In the under 18s, it was a big win to the Eagles, 18.11.119 to Simpson’s no score.

Nate Sambell, Louis Janssen and Blake Ferrari were best for the Tigers.

It was also a tough day for Simpson’s under 15 footballers with a 23.10.148 to no score loss.

Archer Crole, Lucas Woolstencroft and Fin Mahoney the best for the Tigers.

The Eagles were too strong in the under 12s as well, winning 18.10.118 to 0.1.1.

A strong second half has seen Simpson’s A grade netballers run out winners 49-41 over the Western Eagles.

Eliza Duynhoven was named best on court for her 32 goals, while Shelby Cameron and Holly Duynhoven were also named among the best.

The Eagles won the B grade netball 37-36.

Claudia Richardson, Melissa Drayton and Carol Arndell were best for Simpson, with Drayton and Brianna Gass both scoring 18 goals.

Western Eagles led all day to record a 39-26 win in the C grade netball.

Esha Crole, Hayley Weel and Lori Parsons were named best for the C grade Tigers, with Crole shooting 14 goals.

In D grade, the Eagles took out the match 30-21.

Brianna Ferrari scored 16 goals, Lisa Arndell, Jade Sambell and Isabelle Robertson were best for the D grade Tigers.

Western Eagles won the 17 and under netball 32-23.

Esha Crole scored 14 goals for Simpson, with Kaylee Jansen, Gabby Montano and Olivia Rhode the Tigers best.

Simpson went down in the 15 and under game, 39-35.

Tyra Sambell, Keisha McVilly and Kustom Robertson were best for the Tigers, with Robertson scoring 18 goals.

The 13 and under match saw a 55-8 win for the Western Eagles.

Kensie Austin, Imogen McVilly and Nyha Ford were best for Simpson.
